Double Shot of Arrogance
I hate being smarter than my professors.
That is all.
I don't think that you are being arrogant. Rather, I feel that you are coming into a state of actualization/realization. I will be happy to go into this further with you, but I had a similiar feeling when I realized that I actually grasped a concept better than my professor several years back. I confronted her and to my surprise, she hugged me and exclaimed that she had accomplished her job. In short, a teacher and mentor has succeeded when pupils excel all expectations.
Happy Thanksgiving. Marie
Ah, if only my professors were so big-hearted! My especially incompetent professor refuses to concede the point, and therefore grades me down on tests because I can't bring myself to give an answer I know to be wrong.

Now it is more difficult for me to decide if I should be more frustrated about my inability to teach myself new things, or about my sometimes not so subtle arrogance of thinking that I already know something.
